Limitation Periods Not Set in Stone

Organisations need to recognise and account for their potential exposure to claims (and potential claims) that have not yet been litigated and may never be litigated. The risk of future litigation creates significant uncertainty. The law recognises the need to address uncertainty by imposing limitation periods which restrict the time within which proceedings must be brought.
