Eight Core Principles of Neurobiologically Informed Interventions for Trauma From Childhood Maltreatment
2019
Abstract Trauma associated with intimate human relationships such as that experienced through domestic and family violence (DFV) is related to numerous deleterious outcomes across the biopsychosocial spectrum. Moreover, the prevailing consensus is that current treatments offer little efficacy in improving the psychosocial pathology that results. This chapter presents a brief overview of eight core principles that the author proposes should be used to inform both adult and paediatric clinical intervention practices where trauma is an aetiological factor.
