APPLICATION OF ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED SUSPENSION TO THE 'ONE-BOX CAR'

1994
In October 1988, minor changes in the CARAVAN/HOMY(E24) were announced. It was equipped with electronically controlled suspension. This report is concerned with electronically controlled suspension and its effects on the Mini–Van, (called the 'One–Box Car' in Japan). The system is based on me 'Sonar Suspension' but includes the 'Load Sensing Type' used to supplement the performance under the empty and fully loaded conditions. The 'Load Sensing Type' is a two–mode control program on ROM, the two modes being 'empty' and 'loaded'. This method of control has proved effective for the 'One–Box Car'.
