Analysis of Cultivating Undergraduates Majoring in Materials Science in the Context of Engineering Education Professional Accreditation Based on Wavelet Clustering Algorithm

From the perspective of engineering education professional accreditation, the current construction status of engineering education professional accreditation in China is summarized. The necessity of implementing professional accreditation for Materials science and engineering major is analyzed. On this basis, a new idea of cultivation model for international talents in the context of professional accreditation is proposed and discussed from the aspects of educational objectives, curriculum system, teaching model, teaching staff, guarantee system, etc. to carry out useful explorations for establishing a sound cultivation model for international talents in Materials science and engineering major. The core content of professional accreditation is to conduct the accreditation assessment on the professional competence of graduates. However, due to the lack of competence standards for the accreditation assessment, the imperfect accreditation procedure, and other reasons, the accreditation goals are distorted during the implementation of professional accreditation, which is not conducive to building the accreditation relationship between industry associations and undergraduates. By analyzing the enforcement mode of higher education professional accreditation for quantity survey in developed countries and regions, we compared and studied the key factors of the professional accreditation assessment, summarized the links to be improved in the domestic professional accreditation pilot work, and finally made suggestions for carrying out professional accreditation in mainland China, to provide a reference for the development of professional accreditation of undergraduates.
