Raspberry Pi based complete embedded system for iris recognition

This paper presents a complete embedded system for iris recognition. The proposed system is based on the Raspberry Pi 3B single-board computer. The main emphasis has been placed on functionality of the whole recognition process, including hardware and software aspects. A carefully designed infra-red data acquisition enabled efficient iris segmentation and coding. The data processing software is based on the USIT project and uses the OpenCV library. Experimental research was carried out for a group of fourteen volunteers.
