Determining the Relative Impact of PSAs and Brochures upon General Public Drivers Interfacing With Emergency Service Vehicles

This project was intended to determine the relative impact of Public Service Announcements (PSAs) and brochures upon general public drivers interfacing with emergency service vehicles. A literature review was done and driving simulation was used to evaluate the behaviors of drivers. The report concluded that the viewing or reading of information suggesting a driver move over and slow down when encountering emergency vehicles on the highway does result in more responsive actions by the vehicle operator.
