Study on the Content of Total Flavonoids, Total Phenolic Acid and Antioxidant Activity of Extracts from Potamogeton crispus L.

2020
In this paper, the active components of the extract were researched, the content of total flavonoids and total phenolic acid was tested, and its antioxidant activity too. The content of total flavonoids and total phenolic acids in petroleum ether and ethyl acetate were tested by ultraviolet spectrophotometry using rutin and gallic acid as control materials. The antioxidant activity of extracts from different solvent of Potamogeton crispus L. was tested by DPPH free radical scavenging, Potassium ferricyanide reduction and salicylic acid capturing hydroxyl radical method. There is a certain amount of total flavonoids and total phenolic acid in it. The content of them in different solvent extract was different, and the total flavonoids content of the petroleum ether extract was higher than the ethyl acetate extract, and the total phenolic acid content was the same. The extract from petroleum ether and ethyl acetate has the ability to scavenge DPPH, hydroxyl radicals and to restore Fe3+. The ability of each extract enhanced with the increasing of sample concentration, and the results of ethyl acetate extract was lower than petroleum ether one.
