Effects of acrylamide exposure on the expression of SYP and DCX in the hippocampal dentate gyrus neurons in offspring rats

2016
Objective To study effects of acrylamide(ACR)exposure on the expression of Synaptophysin(SYP)and Doublecortin(DCX)of neuron in the hippocampal dentate gyrus neurons in offspring rats. Methods On gestational day 6,dams were randomly divided into four groups of eight dams each and given ACR at 0,50,100 or 200 ppm in their drinking water from gestational day 6 to postnatal day 21. On postnatal day 21,all the offspring were killed and immunofluorescence administered. Results Immunofluorescence staining showed that SYP positive cells of 100 ppm or 200 ppm groups significant decrease in the hippocampal dentate gyrus as compared with 0 ppm control or 50 ppm groups,as well as DCX(P<0.05). Conclusion The decreases of SYP and DCX levels after maternal exposure to ACR,which might impaired the formation of synapses and decreased neuronal proliferation and migration in the hippocampal dentate gyrus, inhibited the development of neurons。
