1H‐N. M. R Study of Some D‐Aldohexapyranosyl‐D‐Fructos(id)es in D2O

We report on the analysis of the 300 MHz 1H-n.m.r spectra obtained in D2O of SUCROSE (α-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 2)-β-D-fructofuranoside), PALATINOSE (α-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 6)-D-fructose), LEUCROSE (α-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 5)-D-fructose), TURANOSE (α-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 3)-D-fructose) and LACTULOSE (β-D-galactopyranosyl-(1 4)-D-fructose). It was possible to identify most of the resonances of the major isomers using the homo-INDOR technique. The extracted chemical shifts are compared with those of the corresponding mono-oses and increment rules are suggested.
