Tribological Understanding of Polymer Lapped Surfaces

2008
Polymer lapping may significantly remove secondary roughness and result in smoothened topography that helps improve the tribological performance of surfaces. Reported in this paper are studies of topographic, mechanical and tribological characteristics of a lapped surface. The effects of secondary roughness on contact and lubrication are explored.Copyright © 2008 by ASME
