Hello Project – Winter 2019

2019
Hello Project is a radically inclusive performance making project being undertaken in the city of Chuncheon, South Korea over 2 years by an ensemble of people with a diverse range of experiences of disability. This project is facilitated by Jeremy Neideck, Younghee Park, and Nathan Stoneham, co-founders of Company Bad, a collective of transcultural performance makers co-located in Seoul, South Korea and Brisbane, Australia. This project is a collaboration between Company Bad, Chuncheon Arts Festival, 10 Spoons / Staff Seoul - one of Korea’s largest independent live performance production houses, and Women Striving for a Better Tomorrow - a social rights and cultural advocacy organisation run by and for people living with disability. Drawing on storytelling, imagery, sound and immersive environments, Hello Project imagines a world that is welcoming, heartfelt, and conducive to meaningful encounters between people of all walks of life. The final outcome of Hello Project will take the form of an interactive piece of contemporary performance that explores the possibility for human connection across perceived barriers of language, culture, location, and ability. The second phase of creative development of the project occurred in December 2019, with a public outcome presented at the Festival Theater Momzit (Chuncheon Mime Theater) in Chuncheon, South Korea.
