Mitigation Of Harmonics Current Using Different Control Algorithms Of Shunt Active Power Filter For Non-Linear Loads

In this paper a three control algorithm are validated with simulation studies for power quality improvement synchronous reference frame theory, Icos theory and synchronous current detection method (SCDM) of a three-phase three wire shunt active power filter (SAPF) for non-linear loads. By using the hysteresis technique for generating six pulses to drive IGBT, to make the source current sinusoidal and reduce the total harmonic distortion (THD) less than 5% for meeting the IEEE standard, the control generates a reference current and compared with filter injected current through a current controller for all algorithms. The simulation results demonstrate that the SCDM algorithm gives the best reduction of THD compared with other algorithms.
