An exo-polyhedral bicyclic 11-vertex closo-ruthenaborane: [(PPh3)(CH3COS)2RuB10H8]

The title compound, 1,2:1,3-bis(μ-thioacetato-S:O)-1-(triphenylphosphine-P)-1-ruthena-closo-undecaborane, [Ru(C 4 H 14 B 10 O 2 S 2 )(C 18 H 15 P)], contains an 11-vertex closo-type C 2v {RuB 10 } cluster and two symmetric exo-polyhedral five-membered Ru-S-C-O-B rings. The Ru-S bond lengths are 2.443(2) and 2.445 (2) A, and the Ru-B bond lengths are in the range 2.036 (9)-2.393 (9) A.
