Adaptation of 10 Gb/s STM-64 transmitter and receiver for RZ transmission in international field trial

For the transmission over a fibre link between Madrid and Lisbon 10 Gb/s, STM-64 terminal equipment operating in the 1.3 /spl mu/m optical window has been adapted for the use of return-to-zero (RZ) pulse form. The achieved transmitter and receiver performance is reported.
