2008
This paper describes and explains the role of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) as a focal point for building connections, collaboration and capacity building among educational sectors as well as between education providers and local communities. The case study presented involves over 1200 senior school students who are participating in TVET through the TAFE NSW - Hunter Institute and the University of Newcastle at three campuses on the Central Coast of New South Wales. [The focus of the article is on Ourimbah campus - a joint venture of further and higher education institutions providing cross-sectoral access to, and pathways through, both institutions].
