Iron-Catalyzed Nazarov Reaction of Indole, Benzofuran, and Benzo[b]thiophene Derivatives.

A very simple protocol for the synthesis of cyclopentano-fused indole (II), benzofuran and benzothiophene derivatives is developed using an economical Fe-catalyzed Nazarov cyclization.
