« Les sociétés marronnes en Guyane : rapport à l’histoire et modes d’intégration »

2013
« Maroon societies in French Guiana.Their relation to history and modes of integration. » Maroon societies living in French Guiana do not share a single, common history, even though they were born in Suriname and share the experience of the « First Time » founding period. In the past, the Ndyuka were led into a fight with the Aluku ; today, all Aluku are French citizens, whereas Ndyuka or Saamaka are assigned immigrant status. This both common and divergent past shed light on the question of immigrant integration and its different modes — collective or individual.
