Additively Manufactured Conformal All-dielectric Frequency Selective Surface

This work presents a reflector type frequency selective surface (FSS) with 700 MHz bandwidth centered around the operating frequency of 15 GHz, with two transmission zeroes at 14.85 and 15.19 GHz. The structure working in the Ku-band has additively manufactured hexagonal projections from a flat surface. The structure has been analyzed with electric and magnetic field distribution and similar responses have also been observed in conformal condition. In addition, the proposed structure also provides shielding effectiveness of greater than 10 dB within the operating band. The polarization independent all-dielectric FSS is fabricated and the measured data obtained validates the simulated response.
