Progress in antitumor terminally mono-methylated saturated fatty acids

The structure,antitumor activity,natural existence,biological function and biosynthesis pathway of terminally mono-methylated saturated fatty acids(tmmSFAs) were overviewed.Antitumor activity of tmmSFAs reported firstly since 2000,research progress of antitumor capacity and antitumor mechanism of tmmSFAs were described,and its application prospects in the fields of health food and anticancer drugs were analyzed.
