With an annual investment volume of almost 500 billion euros, public procurement in Germany offers a significant potential for the acquisition of climate-friendly products and services. This way, public investments can not only help to avoid greenhouse gas emissions, but also create the first key markets for climate-friendly products. In addition to positive effects on cost reduction through economies of scale and learning effects, the acceptance of new types of goods by private customers can also be strengthened by setting agoodexample.
