Multiplayer interaction of Trichoderma and plant in the induced plant resistance

2020
Abstract Trichoderma spp. are the most commonly used biofungicides in agriculture. Biocontrol activity of Trichoderma depends on mycoparasitism, secretion of antifungal agents and enzymes, nutrient, and space competition, along with the stimulation of plant defense through the activation of plant gene expression and metabolic pathways. Understanding the induction of plant defense mechanism was required to develop an active biocontrol agent. In this chapter, we evaluated modern understanding of the interactions of Trichoderma with plants to induce the defense mechanism against pathogens.
