Sex Differences in Intelligence in Young Children: Some Evidence from Taiwan

In the standardization sample of the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence – Fourth Edition (WPPSI-IV) in Taiwan, girls at the age of 2:5-3:11 years generally had higher average cognitive abilities than boys but this advantage was not present at the age of 4:0-7:0 years. These results are consistent with other studies reporting that among young children, girls have higher average cognitive abilities than boys.
