Organic optoelectronic component and method of operation of the organic optoelectronic device is an organic optoelectronic component provided with the features: - at least an organic light-emitting element (100) having an organic functional layer stack (103) having at least an organic light-emitting layer between two electrodes (102, 104), - at least an organic light-detecting element (200, 200 ', 300) selected from at least a first organic light detecting element (200, 200') having at least an organic light-detecting layer, and at least a second organic light detecting element (300 ), having at least an organic light-detecting layer, - wherein the at least one organic light-emitting element (100) and the at least one organic light-detecting element (200, 200 ', 300) on a common substrate (101) are arranged in laterally adjacent surface regions, - wherein the first organic light-detecting element (200, 200 ') is adapted to ambient light (3, 4) to be detected, - wherein the at least one organic light-detecting layer of the at least one second organic light detecting element (300) between two non-transparent layers (311) is disposed, which (at least an organic light-detecting layer of the at least one second organic light detecting element 300 ) from ambient light (3, 4) shade, and - wherein the at least one organic light-emitting element (100) is transparent and emits in operation through the substrate (101) and in a direction remote from the substrate the light (1). Furthermore, a method is provided for operation of the organic optoelectronic component.
