Harmonic Mitigation in Electrical Radial Distribution System Using Photovoltaic Unified Power Quality Conditioner (PV-UPQC)
2019
In this paper, a simplified study of harmonic propagation in a real electrical radial distribution system with the presence of two non-linear loads is presented. The first non-linear load is a three phase full-wave bridge rectifier (P6) installed at node 1, and the second is a twelve-pulse bridge rectifier (P12) installed at node 2. To mitigate harmonics, many methods are used in power system. In our work, we use a new configuration that is Photovoltaic Unified Power Quality Conditioner (PV-UPQC). The simulations results with our device proposed show that the total harmonic distortion (THD) of current and voltage are in standards norm used (IEEE-512-1992).
