Voltage-pulse generator with resistance coupling

A voltage-pulse generator for insulation testing is described in which the discharging resistors are used for resistance coupling to expand the actuation range. Modernization of 200-kV and 1-MV generators expanded the actuation ranges of their dischargers from 25 to 48% and from 28 to 42%, respectively.
