Quantitative analysis of ion transport mechanism in biopolymer electrolyte

Abstract The role of total number of charge carrier in the biopolymer electrolyte is demonstrated by the mathematical model in this paper. Arrowroot based biopolymer electrolyte is synthesized by using potassium iodide as a dopant. Ambient room temperature and elevated temperature dependence ionic conductivity of the biopolymer electrolyte is calculated from impedance spectroscopy. Trukhan model is a direct and simple method for evaluating exact value of diffusion coefficient. The diffusion coefficient of AR-KI based electrolyte is calculated from the dielectric tangent loss and further used for analyzing the concentration of charge carrier and ion mobility. High value of mobile charge carrier is confirmed from Rice and Roth model, Schutt and Gerdes Model.
