Modulation of the Hsp90 cycle by the Glucocorticoid receptor

2014
The glucocorticoid receptor (GR) is one of the most stringent Hsp90 clients. Its in vivo activity strictly depends on the Hsp90 chaperone machinery. Here, the molecular and mechanistic details of the Hsp90-GR interplay were investigated using purified components and a variety of biochemical and structural approaches. The present study provides new insights into the GR-Hsp90 binding mechanism and shows how GR affects the conformational cycle of Hsp90 with contributing Hsp90 co-chaperones as molecular modulators.
