The ever-increasing reliance on computer applications requires a re-doubling of emphasis on sound engineering judgment by practicing professionals. Computers can enable us to perform engineering tasks we did not dream to be possible just a few years ago. Blind faith in computers, however, may produce results that are far less reliable than back of the envelope calculations by a seasoned engineer.
