A review on sulphur based fluorescent material and its application in sensing

Abstract The development of fluorescence materials is an important area of research due to its wide applicability in many areas such as sensing, bio-imaging, photodynamic therapy, etc. In the literature, several fluorescent materials are known such as BODIPY, Fluorescein, Rhodamine, Porphyrins, etc. The presence of specific atoms (S, Se, Te, N, P, etc.) in the systems makes these molecules more attractive and useful for bio-systems. In the present review paper, here our main focus is to summarize all research data related to S-containing fluorescent materials and analyze their applicability with their structural features.
