Effects of Resin Glass Transition Temperature on Tension/Compression Properties of GFRP

The author prepares GFRP NOL rings by way of winding process,using UP-191#, VE-3201,WHUT-170 resin systems and glass fiber as raw material in this paper.The main objective of the present paper is to research the effects of temperature near Tg±20 ℃ on the tension and compression properties of NOL ring. The results show that as the temperature rises,resin matrix changes from the glass format to the rubber format,the tensile strength of the NOL ring is getting lower;meanwhile the tensile modulus curve increases after the first decline and then shows another trend of decline,the inflexion appears in Tg-20 ℃ and Tg ℃,respectively.The compressive strength and modulus of the NOL ring will decline.
