Effects of the Removable Chicken House on Growth Performance of Broilers and Indoor Environment Parameters

2010
The experiment was conducted with 880 one-day-old Lingnan yellow broilers. All broilers were randomly divided into two groups on 21 days, each with four replications. The broilersin control group were raised in the general fixed chicken house and the treated broilers in the removable chicken house. The effects of the removable chicken house on the growth performance in broilers and indoor environment parameters were studied. The results indicated that the average daily gain was 28.05 g in the removable group and 27.84 g in the control. The feed gain ratio was 3.10 in the former and 3.13 in the latter. The growth performance was better in the removable group than that in the control group while the difference was insignificant. The daily average temperature was 11.22℃inside the removable house and 9.96℃in the fixed one.The concentration of NH_3 was measured every other day.The daily average concentration of NH_3 was 2.98μg/mL in the removable house and 2.70μg/mL in the fixed one, both less than the prescribed safe concentration. In conclusion, the removable house is desirable and can be applied to replace the traditional fixed one.
