Preliminary analysis of the effects of magnetic declination on flux-tube integrated linear growth rate of generalized Rayleigh-Taylor instability

2018
The influence of different longitude and magnetic deflection on the neutral wind are studied, using the method of flux-tube integration. The results indicate that magnetic deflection on the integral neutral wind perpendicular to the magnetic meridian has less influence, but the influence of magnetic deflection on the integral neutral wind perpendicular to the magnetic field line in the meridian is significant. What's more, the influence of magnetic declination on integral neutral wind is evidently dependent on longitude. The neutral wind and magnetic declination in the ionosphere are the main factors leading to the north-south asymmetry of electron density and its gradient, which may affect the generation and evolution of irregular structure and Rayleigh-Taylor instability, and the variation of irregular structure with season and solar activity as well as the distribution of geographic longitude and latitude. This is a question worthy of further study.
