Hole spectral functions of LaMnO3

Abstract We analyze the possible outcome of the angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy for LaMnO 3 within the self-consistent Born approximation. The quasiparticle bandwidth scales, respectively, with J (the orbital superexchange energy) and t (the hole transfer integral) in the absence and presence of strong electron–phonon interaction, and the quasiparticles are orbital polarons and Holstein polarons respectively.
