Estrés, depresión, inflamación y dolor

2008
Stress, Depression, Infl ammation and Pain In many of the so-called serious chronic diseases we can see the presence of parallel processes such as stress, infl ammation, depression and pain. In the past two decades it has accumulated data suggesting the existence of a complex relationship between these processes that would be bidirectional. One of the keys of this relationship can be found in the role played by the immune system, especially through the cytokines. In this article we have focused on a review of the role that cytokines and interleukins within them, seem play as mediators of each one of the processes and the relationship between them. Probably the study of interleu- kins can give plenty of light on the emotional processes associated with certain diseases.
