Advanced information technology solutions for implementing information sharing across supply chains

In this paper, we examine how advanced Information Technologies (IT) can be exploited for information sharing across supply chains, enabling collaboration and interoperability. Advanced information technologies, such as intelligent agents technology, data mining, big data, cloud computing (CC), Internet of Things (IoT), RFID technology and Industry 4.0 are utilized to implement the sharing of data and information throughout a supply chain. We discuss emerging research issues, trends and challenges that arise from the extended application of such technologies on the interdependent logistics activities.
