Volume of a Bubble formed from a Nozzle in Liquid
1949
The volume of a bubble formed from a nozzle in liquid is measured under various conditions (nozzle diameter used: 1.4-7mm, liquid head: 20-80cm and back volume of a nozzle: 35-1000cc) with the following systems, air-water, acetic acid and alcohol. Results obtained: The general correlation is expressed aswherin v: volume of a bubble, D: diameter of a nozzle, H: liquid head, ρ: density of liquid, V: back volume, γ: surface tension, g: acceleration due to gravity, C, m, n, q is a constant, dependent of the dimension-less groups, (D/V1/3) and (D/√γ/gΔρ).
