Jornalismo científico, representações sociais e estigmatização: notícias veiculadas sobre as rádios livres sorocabanas

2020
This text corresponds to a critique about news that spread information about Sorocaba’s free radio stations. In particular, we intend to cross journalistic records with the testimonies of people who had their own homemade radio broadcasting stations in Sorocaba in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. For this purpose, document analysis is used to study two articles published in the newspaper O Cruzeiro do Sul. As for the testimonies of the owners of these free radio stations, thematic oral history and semi-structured interviews are used as research methodologies. The results indicate that there was an effort through the printed media to create a negative stereotype of Sorocaba's clandestine broadcasters. However, there is a change in the discourse about the regarding independent broadcasters in the city of Sao Paulo when such initiatives acquired national and international notoriety.
