Chemical composition and antimicrobial activity of methanolic extract of Trichoderma sp. growing wild in Tunisia.

2009
Abstract The chemical composition of methanol extract of Trichoderma sp. Mycelium was analysed by GC-FID and GC-MS. 16 compounds were identified representing 93.6 % of its total composition. Methyl 9,12,15-octadecatrienoate (51.8 %) and phytol (10.5 %) were found to be the main compounds. The antimicrobial activity of the extract was determined against five Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and five phytopathogenic fungi. The tested extract exhibited an interesting antibacterial activity against all bacteria tested except the Gram-negative bacteria Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, but no antifungal activity was observed.
