Aportes para una reflexión crítica (epistémico-política) del llamado “giro decolonial” y la “Epistemología del Sur”

2021
In this article we propose a critical revision of some of the thesis of the so called ‘Decolonial Turn’ and the “Epistemology of the South” proposed by de Sousa Santos. We first set out the guiding ideas of these stances and examine their geopolitical, ideological, and epistemological aspects. We then address some controversies that have already been raised around these paradigms, among them objections raised against key concepts such as "modernity" and "coloniality", and contradictions that are noted around guiding topics such as feminism, subalternity and political struggle. The main axis that guides our own critical review lies in the concept of organic totality, under the assumption that the later allows to locate some limits many of these theses present when it comes to being consistent with the emancipating aims they proclaim, both in the political order and in the epistemological field.
