AbstractBackground: The potential to influence the design of one’s local environment is especially important to older people since age-related problems, in combination with a less supportive environment, can prevent the performance of meaningful activities. It is unclear how best to tailor a participatory approach to support the task of collaborating with older persons about their local environment. Life filming was used in such a project.Objective: To describe Life filming as a means of participatory approach in relation to older community-dwelling persons and the design of their local environment.Material and method: A descriptive single case study. Data were generated through field notes and memos, and analyzed utilizing thematic analysis.
