A Step Beyond Empirical Approaches of Seismic Reservoir Characterization

This paper focuses on a method able to combine a petro-elastic model (describing the link petrophysical parameters and petro-elastic parameters) with a seismic reservoir characterization approach. From this combination, a new operator is generated allowing to transform seismic inverted impedances into better controled petrophysical properties for a good update of the reservoir model. An example is developed to illustrate the method.
