BIOMECHANICAL EVALUATION OF BONY DEFECTS REPAIRED WITH NORMAL, CARBON FIBER, AND WIRE REINFORCED BONE CEMENT

ABSTRACT Standardized defects were produced in-vitro in human and bovine long bones. These defects were repaired with normal, carbon fiber reinforced and wire reinforced bone cement. When tested mechanically, the wire reinforcement group sustained highest maximum load in bending.
