On-Line Preparation of Typescript

1978
A small NOVA computer is used to prepare reports. The typed “pages” are stored on a floppy disk and printed on a Versatec 100 points/in. electrostatic printer plotter. The system serves 2 typists but can be expanded to many more stations. Among its special features are intermixed English and Hebrew letters, choice of different type fonts, fixed page background, an option to overlay on one page curves and graphs which the computer has prepared in a separate Fortran computation, merging of 2 separate files, etc. The stand-alone cost is about $40,000 + $2,000–4,000 for every typing station.
