Changing of Land Utilisation in Rajasthan State

2018
Land utilisation thus deals with the problem of conversion of land from one major use to another; the study of problems arising in the process of deciding between the alternative major types of land use and putting all types of land to their respective optimum uses. The present paper is an attempt to analyse the change that has taken place in land-use pattern in Rajasthan from 1980–1981 to 2010–2011. The study reveals that marginal change has occurred in all land-use categories proportion of net sown area to total area has increased from 44.61 per cent in 1980–1981 to 54.54 per cent in 2010–2011. The purpose of the present paper is to describe the regional aspects of the district level differential in land-use pattern in state on the basis of statistical analysis of the 1980–1981 and 2010–2011 data for all the 32 districts in Rajasthan.
