Inhibition of proliferation by 5F from Pteris semipinnata L in different kinds of non-small cell lung cancer lines.

Objective To observe the inhibitory effect of Pteris semipinnata L 5F(Psl5F) on proliferation of four kinds of non small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) cell lines in vitro.Methods After treatment of NSCLC cell lines A549,SPCA-I,NCI-H460,PGCL3 with various concentration of Psl5F for 24,48,and 72 hours,the proliferation capacity of cells was observed by using MTT assay.Results After treated with Psl5F,the proliferation of these NSCLC cell lines was inhibited differently.The IC50 for 72 hours treatment of A549,SPCA-I,NCI-H460,PGCL3 was 12.12,10.74,3.91,4.94 mg/L respectively.Conclusion Psl5F can inhibit the proliferation of NSCLC cells effectively and it shows most sensitive to the large cell lung cancer cell line NCI-H460.
