Two Notes about the Application of Capacitance Array Tool

There existed two shortcomings of multiphase flow monitoring in horizontal wells by using capacitance array tool(CAT),one was imaging distortion of CATView software,the other was the loss of oil signal in oil-water two phase flow logging.The reasons for the shortcomings are analyzed firstly,the first is that the flow pattern is not fully considered in existing imaging algorithms,the second is that the structural character is not considered in the instrument.The ideas for the improvement of flow imaging algorithm are point out,and it is proposed that stabilizer should be used when using CAT.
