4-channel polarization-insensitive semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) gate array integrated with spot-size converters

A 4-channel SOA gate array integrated with spot-size converters has been realized with very low polarization dependent loss (< 0.2 dB) and low coupling loss (2.6 dB). This device operates over a wavelength range of more than 40 nm.
