Multi-sensing System for Commercial Aircraft Rudder Surface Surveillance Based on Micro IMUs

In this paper, we present a multi-sensing system for commercial aircraft rudder surface surveillance in order to solve the problem of low efficiency and inspection error caused by manual inspection of aircraft rudder surface. In the multi-sensing system, the micro inertial measurement units (IMUs) are designed to simplify the installation of the flight control system. We also design algorithms to improve the precision of the angle of aircraft rudder surface. The mode of wireless transmission is designed for real-time detection for aircraft rudder surfaces and elimination of measurement errors. The experimental results show that the effectiveness and superiority of the multi-sensing system for commercial aircraft rudder surface surveillance. The errors of the angle of aircraft rudder surface are lower than 0.1 degree.
