High-efficiency power amplifier for narrowband complex signal with AM and PM

This paper proposes an amplifier based on EER system which allows to effectively amplify a complex narrowband signal with both amplitude and phase modulation. The high efficiency is achieved by way of using the class-E amplifier in RF carrier path and the class-S amplifier in LF envelope path. The proposed amplifier was calculated, modelled and experimentally tested. It has demonstrated high efficiency with good linearity.
