Microbial Community Structure Diversity in Different Sludge Used as Reducing Barrier for Tailings

2019
For a long time, how to prevent and control pollution caused by various heavy metals in tailings has been a technical problem. The existing research results show that it is feasible to prevent the harm of Acidic Mine Drainage (AMD) by using the microbial action of Compacted Sludge Reducing Barrier. In this study, microbial high-throughput analysis was used to study the relationship between the diversity of microbial community structure of dewatered sludge and heavy metals contents, in 4 municipal sewage wastewater treatment plants with different sources and different wastewater treatment processes. The results indicated that each of the sewage treatment plant had its own unique microbial community structure, and its correlation of environmental factors was also different. This study provided a theoretical basis for the microbial mechanism and test of Compacted Sludge Reducing Barrier.
